Saturday night was one of the best nights of my entire life. I was lucky enough to be in the pit for Tim McGraw with my best friend, Alexa. We got to Jiffy Lube Live around 3, but we were told that they were not letting anyone in until 4 so we went to 7-11 and just waited until 4. We went and waited in line for an hour until 5:00 when they let the doors open. As soon as we got through, we literally sprinted the entire way around Jiffy Lube to the pit section just to wait another half hour so they could finish soundcheck. This whole waiting just made everyone more nervous. The second they let us go, we ran down the steps and right up to the stage right in the front. We then waited another hour and a half until 7 for the show to start which surprisingly went by fast.
The Band Perry was up first. I met them back in October at Best Buy when their CD first came out and they were the sweetest ever. So seeing them open for Tim McGraw was awesome for them. They did so well and had become such great performers. Touched Neil’s hand in the beginning and Reid kept singing to us. During their last song, I gave Kimberly from The Band Perry flowers and she actually took them! She knelt down, said thank you so much, and then gave me her guitar pick.
Luke Bryan was up next. Talk about an amazing performer! He was all over the place. I couldn’t believe how good he was. I had been listening to him for awhile so seeing him was awesome. I was one of the only ones singing during his old song and he definitely noticed as I watch the video back. So happy. Talk about an awesome guy.
Now, it was time for Tim McGraw. He first appeared in the middle of the crowd and sang a song and a half before he made his way back toward the actual stage. Everyone in the crowd was going nuts as he walked back through the crowd up to the stage. When he first walked on the catwalk, I touched his hand. I touched Tim McGraw’s hand. Like, did this really happen? I couldn’t believe it. He did great throughout the show. During one part, his microphone stand was RIGHT in front of me. I got so excited immediatley as he walked up to it and started singing “Red Ragtop.” I was singing the chorus and taking some pictures when all of a sudden as he was finishing the chorus, I looked up and Tim McGraw was singing to me. To ME. And he just kept singing then he stuck his hand out at me (which I actually got a picture of) and I didn’t know what to do. I just started smiling really, really big and put my hand over my mouth and he started to smile and laugh at me. I thought I was going to pass out. Seriously. I just started looking around after seeing if everyone had seen it. They had. I’ve never been so excited. He was so close the entire show and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist to be in the pit for. It was amazing.
Overall, I had the best time ever with my best friend. I know she enjoyed the pit seats for her birthday present :)
